Mount St. Joseph University's School of Arts & Sciences is seeking adjunct professors to teach Computer Science courses, including but not limited to:
Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Programming Fundamentals (Python, SQL)
Database Management
Application Development
Introduction to Computers & Digital Literacy
Additional Computer Science and Software Development Topics
Course offerings may vary by semester.
ResponsibilitiesAdjunct faculty members will be expected to:
Deliver engaging and effective course instruction in assigned subjects
Assess and grade student assignments and projects
Monitor student participation and provide timely feedback
Hold office hours to support student learning
Attend meetings with the department chair and/or faculty as needed
Adhere to department and university policies and procedures
Utilize technology effectively in course delivery, including learning management systems and online resources
Maintain open communication with students, staff, and faculty
Ensure compliance with FERPA regulations regarding student confidentiality
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of relevant professional experience in software development, web development, programming, or IT
Preferred: IT Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; PhD
Experience:
Evidence of past teaching excellence and/or industry experience in relevant fields
Strong familiarity with instructional technology and online teaching platforms is a plus
