Job description

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Clinical Director to provide clinical oversight and direction across our 245D and long-term residential mental health programs.  The Clinical Director does not directly supervise employees but is responsible for ensuring services are trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based, and compliant with applicable state licensing, regulatory and billing requirements.

The Clinical Director establishes and upholds clinical standards, provides clinical supervisor and consultation to staff and leaders, ensures documentation quality and integrity, and supports continuous improvement aligned with people Incorporated's mission, values, and integrated care model.

Schedule: Full-Time Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, Flexibility with start and end times.  This position will also provide backup support for the supervisory on-call rotation.

Locations:  Programs are located across the Twin Cities.  This role will be mobile, with onsite presence required at various locations each week as needed.   Periodic work-from-home flexibility may be available. 

Hiring Range:  $98,100 - $106,000 annual salary, plus $1,000 hiring bonus for external candidates

Main Duties:

  • Partner with long-term residential operations leaders, data teams, and leadership to promote consistency in clinical programming, group services, treatment planning, discharge planning, and service delivery practices, while supporting initial rate setting and ongoing review as needed.
  • Provide consultation and direct clinical support on an emergency basis, for urgent client needs, across all long-term residential programs.
  • Collaborate with site leaders to monitor and improve key clinical and quality outcome measures.
  • Facilitate and/or ensure access to high-quality clinical training and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Support accountability to clinical program standards, including legal, regulatory, billing, and internal policy requirements.
  • Monitor clinical documentation quality, including service notes, assessments, treatment plans, and related records.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in legal, regulatory, and billing requirements impacting long-term residential services and ensure appropriate implementation.

Required 

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Screening. 
  • Ability to meet federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) screening requirements. 
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. 
  • Master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical experience. 
  • Licensure as a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP). 

Preferred 

  • Seven (7) or more years of clinical experience. 
  • Experience in residential or communitybased mental health services. 
  • Completion of People Incorporated’s Link2Leadership Program. 
  • Board-approved clinical supervisor for licensure candidates.
