Clinical Manager -- Family Programs
Upper Valley Haven seeks a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative leader to oversee our Family Shelter, Supportive Housing, and Children's Programs. The Family Programs Manager provides operational and clinical leadership to ensure families experiencing homelessness receive high-quality, trauma-informed services that promote stability, safety, and long-term success.
This position plays a critical role in supporting staff, strengthening program effectiveness, ensuring compliance with organizational and funder requirements, and building partnerships that advance positive outcomes for children and families.
Compensation
Salary: $68,000 to $78,000. Benefits include Employer-funded health, vision, dental insurance, disability and life insurance, and 403b retirement matching.
What You'll Do
Program Leadership & Service Delivery
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of family housing and support programs.
  • Foster a trauma-responsive, strengths-based culture that promotes dignity, respect, and participant empowerment.
  • Support program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate effective communication across staff, programs, and departments.
  • Participate in an agency-wide on-call rotation.

Staff Leadership & Clinical Supervision
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development to program staff.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management activities.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and mission-driven team culture.
  • Offer guidance on complex participant situations and service planning.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing standards, grant requirements, and best practices.
  • Monitor documentation and recordkeeping to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Support program evaluation, data collection, reporting, and outcome measurement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve services and participant outcomes.

Safety & Risk Management
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment for families, children, staff, and volunteers.
  • Support implementation of safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with staff and partners to address crises and promote participant well-being.

Financial Stewardship & Community Partnerships
  • Assist with budget management and responsible use of program resources.
  • Support grant reporting and program accountability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, service providers, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent Upper Valley Haven in community collaborations and initiatives.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Psychology, Education, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in human services, housing, shelter, family services, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising staff or leading teams.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Clinical licensure or progress toward licensure
  • Experience with homeless services, supportive housing, family services, or nonprofit program management
  • Experience with grant-funded programs and outcome reporting
