ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of structures. This role focuses on delivering products to the right place, at the right time, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment Coordination
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all orders.

Carrier & Vendor Management
  • Communicate with freight carriers, trucking companies, and shipping vendors.
  • Negotiate rates and coordinate transportation services to optimize cost and performance.

Order Processing
  • Process customer orders accurately and ensure on-time shipment.
  • Verify order details, quantities, and delivery requirements.

Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare and manage shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, invoices).
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including DOT requirements, wide load restrictions, height limitations, and capacity regulations.

Operations & Tracking
  • Track shipments in real time and proactively address delays or disruptions.
  • Ensure smooth logistics operations across all stages of the supply chain.

Coordination & Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between:
    • Transportation providers
    • Customers
    • Project Managers (PMs)
    • Site contractors
    • Equipment scheduling with Crane providers
  • Provide timely updates on shipment status and respond to inquiries.

Problem-Solving
  • Identify and resolve logistics issues, including:
    • Delayed shipments
    • Incorrect or incomplete deliveries
  • Implement quick and effective solutions to minimize operational impact.

Administrative & Analytical Duties
  • Maintain accurate logistics and shipment records.
  • Analyze shipping data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare reports on delivery performance, delays, and transportation costs.

SUCCESSFUL RESULTS:
On-Time Deliveries OTD: The percentage of orders delivered to the customer on time and without damage or errors.
Carrier Performance: Evaluation of transit times, capacity utilization, and damage claims by shipping partner.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience: Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or inventory management is required, often 1-3 years.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and carriers.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze shipping data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
