Job Summary

This as-needed (PRN) role supports transport around our Baylor University Medical Center campus (downtown Dallas). Hours may vary based on demand. Ideal for those seeking flexible, non-scheduled work.

The Driver, under general supervision, performs transportation and delivery duties. They use a motor vehicle to ensure proper distribution of materials or passengers within the health system.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Prepares supplies, equipment, special parcels, etc. for outbound delivery.
  • Safely transports patients/clients utilizing all available safety devices and procedures.
  • Ensures correct staging of merchandise for delivery to the right building or warehouse. Ensures supplies and packages are securely prepared for delivery.
  • Loads trucks safely and delivers supplies, equipment and other items.
  • Operates truck in difficult delivery situations such as congested city streets and narrow passageways.
  • Completes driver log or trip report in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Complies with all department of transportation (DOT) and company regulations, policies, and standards pertaining to fleet safety compliance.
  • Maintains delivery vehicles in clean, working condition; diligently checks fuel, oil, water and transmission fluid levels daily, replenishing as needed.

  • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Must be able to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.
  • Able to balance multiple demands and respond to time constraints.
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning and email.

 Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
