Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and professional On-Call Shuttle Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for our members attending various events throughout the Tri-State area. This role requires a driver who is comfortable navigating high-traffic urban environments, specifically New York City and Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:
• Safely transport members to and from designated events, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Independently map out the most efficient routes, accounting for road conditions, construction, and heavy traffic in major cities like NYC and Philly.
• Provide high-level customer service, including greeting members and assisting with boarding, exiting, or loading personal items.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring fuel levels, tire pressure, and fluid levels are maintained.
• Maintain clear contact with event organizers to report delays, accidents, or route changes.
• Ensure the vehicle interior and exterior remain clean and presentable at all times.
• Report to Safety and Security Manager any issues or concerns about the vehicles, and any incidents involving our vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a professional driver, with a strong familiarity with tri-state area roads and neighborhoods.
• Highly comfortable and experienced in driving through dense urban traffic and navigating complex streets in NYC and Philadelphia.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years).
• Must be available on an on-call basis, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist passengers as needed.
• A polite, calm, and professional disposition, especially in stressful driving situations like rush hour.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Previous hospitality related experience preferred.
• 2-3 years previous shuttle or charter experience preferred.
• Knowledge of defensive driving techniques.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit and steer for extended periods.
• Capability to lift or carry between 15-50 pounds to assist passengers with luggage or mobility aids.
• Agility to perform pre-trip inspections, which include bending, squatting, and reaching to check tires, brakes and fluids.
Working Conditions:
• Frequent driving in extreme traffic congestion and narrow streets within New York City and Philadelphia.
• As an on-call position, shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and split shifts depending on event times.
• Exposure to fluctuating weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow, and extreme heat while assisting passengers or inspecting vehicles.
• Maintaining a calm, professional demeanor while managing passenger safety and tight arrival schedules during high-stress driving situations.
• Long periods of working alone, requiring self-managed breaks and independent route problem-solving.
