This position is fully remote, utilizing a telehealth setting to connect with students and their families effectively. You will leverage digital tools and platforms to conduct evaluations, therapy sessions, and family consultations. The virtual nature of this role allows for flexibility while maintaining structured working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasionally, you may be asked to accommodate evening shifts or rotating weekend schedules to provide continuous support. During urgent mental health situations, being on-call may also be part of your responsibilities.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, analyzing their personal histories and identifying key risk factors influencing their mental health.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with students, aimed at effectively addressing their specific mental health concerns and facilitating successful reintegration into the school community.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, tailored to suit the varied needs of the student population.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on emotional regulation, coping strategies, and personal development, creating a safe space for students to express themselves.
• Work closely with other mental health professionals—such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners—to ensure a cohesive approach to care and treatment.
• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, utilizing effective de-escalation strategies, and if necessary, making appropriate referrals for higher assistance.
• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and the community resources available, empowering them in their health journey.
• Maintain meticulous, timely, and accurate documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in ongoing team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance service delivery.
• Stay informed of current laws, regulations, and ethical practices relevant to mental health service delivery in educational settings.

Your primary focus will be students from diverse backgrounds, each presenting unique mental health challenges. By developing trusting relationships, you will support students in navigating both academic and personal hurdles, creating a nurturing environment conducive to academic success and personal growth.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Virginia.
• At least two years of post-licensure experience, particularly within mental health or educational settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders and trauma-informed care principles.
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and developing effective treatment plans.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy, utilizing a range of therapeutic methodologies.
• Strong skills in crisis intervention and the ability to remain composed in high-stress scenarios.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues from varied backgrounds.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
• A collaborative spirit, showcasing the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Previous experience in a school-based mental health environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with telehealth service delivery and relevant digital tools.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully improving student mental health outcomes.

The expected salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
