Job description

Pharmacy Data Technician (1st Shift)

Medipack Pharmacy is seeking two dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Data Technicians to join our Data Department team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of prescriptions, patient profiles, and insurance information within our long-term care pharmacy operation.

Schedule:
Primarily 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Weekend rotation every 5–6 weeks
Flexibility required for occasional 2nd shift and on-call operational coverage when needed

Responsibilities:
• Accurately enter prescriptions, patient profiles, and insurance information into the pharmacy system
• Process and verify billing and insurance claims, resolving issues promptly
• Maintain accurate medication, inventory, and order records
• Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and efficient workflow
• Assist with operational coverage needs for occasional 2nd shift and on-call operations when necessary
• Follow HIPAA, FDA, and pharmacy compliance regulations

Requirements:
• Active Pharmacy Technician certification/registration required
• Pharmacy technician data entry experience required
• Long-term care pharmacy data entry experience preferred but not required
• Experience with pharmacy software systems (QS/1, PioneerRx, McKesson, or similar) preferred
• Strong data entry accuracy, typing speed, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail
