Job description

Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and performance of a high-volume warehouse supporting FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), project logistics, household goods (HHG), and storage operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and service excellence across multiple business lines with varying complexity and scale.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, distribution, and dispatch across FF&E, project cargo, and HHG shipments.
  • Manage workflow prioritization across multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines, scopes, and service requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling, staging, and protection of high-value and sensitive goods.
  • Coordinate dock scheduling, labor planning, and equipment utilization to maximize throughput and minimize delays.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs for all warehouse functions, including inbound/outbound processing, inventory control, and storage management.

Inventory Control & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records across all product lines and storage types.
  • Utilize MoverSuite for shipment management, order tracking, and operational visibility.
  • Manage warehouse location control, inventory accuracy, and reporting within MS Warehouse (MSW).
  • Leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) for reporting, communication, and operational tracking.
  • Conduct routine audits and cycle counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Project & FF&E Logistics

  • Coordinate complex FF&E installations and large-scale project shipments, ensuring alignment with client timelines and specifications.
  • Partner with project managers, transportation teams, and clients to ensure seamless execution from receipt through final delivery.
  • Oversee kitting, consolidation, and sequencing of project materials.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and staff to meet operational goals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Conduct training on systems, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment through training, audits, and enforcement of safety protocols.
  • Oversee proper documentation and handling requirements for HHG and specialized freight.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for internal stakeholders and external clients regarding warehouse activities.
  • Address service issues, delays, or discrepancies with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Ensure high levels of service quality and communication across all service lines.

Qualifications Required

  • 5+ years of warehouse management experience in a high-volume, multi-service environment.
  • Experience handling FF&E, project logistics, storage operations, and HHG shipments.
  • Proficiency in MoverSuite, MS Warehouse (MSW), and Microsoft 365 (especially Excel).
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse layout optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.

Preferred

  • Experience in logistics, relocation, or specialized freight environments.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with DOT and HHG regulatory requirements.
