On Call Emergent Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Position Summary:

CREOKS Health Services is seeking on-call providers to deliver after-hours and weekend coverage across our Crisis Stabilization Units & Urgent Recovery Centers. Qualified physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are encouraged to apply. This is a fully virtual (telehealth) position providing care to both pediatric and adult patients with mental health needs.

The on-call provider serves as the responsible clinician during evenings, overnights, and weekends,(minimal weekdays also available) rounding on patients, completing documentation, providing clinical direction to nursing and staff, and responding to patient needs as they arise. Coverage may be scheduled by individual shift or block based on provider availability and program need.

Coverage Options:

Weeknight Coverage (Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

• Provide overnight on-call coverage, remaining available and responsive to the clinical needs of patients, nursing, and staff.
• Triage and manage urgent and emergent issues; provide telehealth orders and clinical direction as needed through the night.

Weekend Coverage (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM)

• Round on newly admitted patients and complete documentation for those encounters.
• Respond to calls from nursing and staff, and provide clinical direction throughout the coverage period. Document care/guidance provided.
• Stable patients do not require routine visits unless specifically requested.
• May be split with other providers

Overnight On-Call (Nights 5:00pm-8:00AM)

• Remain reachable and responsive to patient, nursing, and staff needs during overnight hours.
• Address acute changes in patient condition, medication and safety concerns, and admission/intake questions via telehealth.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a provider of direct medical/mental health care services via telehealth to patients across the lifespan (children and adults).
• Diagnose and manage psychiatric and co-occurring disorders; identify typical and atypical presentations.
• Address acute changes in patient condition, medication and safety concerns, and admission/intake questions via telehealth.
• Provide orders and clinical guidance to nursing staff.
• Evaluate risk of harm to self or others (suicide, homicide, and other safety/crisis concerns) and support patients in the least restrictive, safe environment.
• Document all clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with nursing, the treatment team, and on-site staff, and uphold all ethical and legal standards related to behavioral health care.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• Active, unrestricted license to practice in the State of Oklahoma as a Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP preferred), or Physician Assistant.
• Board certification or board eligibility appropriate to discipline; current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
• Experience in psychiatric / behavioral health care, with comfort treating both pediatric and adult populations.
• Sound clinical judgment with the ability to triage and manage urgent and emergent situations independently and remotely.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and treatment teams.
• Reliable internet connectivity and a private, HIPAA-compliant environment for telehealth practice.

Preferred

• One or more years of independent practice as a PMHNP in an outpatient behavioral health, CCBHC, FQHC, or community mental health setting.
• Experience providing telepsychiatry services.
• Experience with child and adolescent psychiatric care (if assigned to pediatric panels).
• Familiarity with Oklahoma ODMHSAS regulations and CCBHC service expectations.
