Unlike full-time or part-time staff, they are contacted to work only when there is a temporary need, such as covering for an absent employee or handling peak workloads. Their duties can include answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing files, and supporting various office operations. Flexibility and adaptability are important qualities for this role, as assignments and schedules can vary. On Call Administrative Assistants play a crucial role in keeping office functions running smoothly during staffing gaps.

To thrive as an On Call Administrative Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency in office administration, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with office software like Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling tools, and office equipment is often required. As an On Call Administrative Assistant, your schedule may vary depending on the organization's needs, which can include filling in for absent staff or supporting busy periods. This flexibility can offer opportunities for those seeking varied hours, but it also requires adaptability and readiness to respond to last-minute requests.
