Job description

Job Summary

OMH Dirtworks is a veteran & family-owned and operated underground utility installation and excavation company. Our home office is located in Marysville OH, however work locations are in Columbus/Central Ohio area (work transportation/vehicles available to job sites from home office).

Promotions & pay increases are offered based on skills, performance and competence gained through experience with increased responsibilities and leadership roles.

Opportunities include a tutored learning path from Laborer with potential to operate as Crew Leader, Equipment Operator and, if desired, to secure a professional City of Columbus Water/Sewer Contractor license. What you don't know now, we're willing to teach you if you're honest, hard-working, and dependable with a desire to learn and grow with the company.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • transporting and operating machinery (mini-excavator, skid-steer, dump truck) for excavation, trenching, backfilling
  • conducting equipment and vehicle inspections/preventive maintenance checks & basic repair
  • preparing work according to instructions, maps and diagrams
  • hand digging and manual installation of underground utilities
  • maintaining safe work environment by following standards & procedures
  • compliance with job, site, state requirements/regulations
  • ability to work independently, with little to no supervision (after appropriate training period) and according to established processes
  • meeting/exceeding customer and employer quality expectations according to job/project requirements & schedule

Job Qualifications/Requirements include:

  • motivation, initiative, and strong work ethic
  • experience in excavation and/or construction
  • familiarity with operating excavation equipment
  • comfort working outdoors year-round, in a variety of weather conditions
  • ability to lift ~50 lbs
  • clean & current OH Driver's License
  • transportation to/from work locations or Home Office (company vehicles available for transport)
