Our OMH Adult Outpatient Clinic provides a multi-disciplinary team of licensed independent practitioners and clinicians to provide services for adults experiencing co-occurring symptoms and disorders. This collaborative approach to care, integrating medication with therapy, ensures the best outcomes for clients. In addition to helping individuals reduce symptoms, the focus of treatment is on developing self-awareness and identifying personal goals and strategies to achieve those goals. Our clinic uses evidence-based best practices in all treatment modalities, and takes a holistic approach to the individual.

Position Summary:The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, provides services for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses.

This is a part-time weekday position!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete initial mental status examination for new patients.

  • Prescribe psychotropic medications, as needed.

  • Conduct regularly scheduled medication reviews for ongoing patients. Consult with clinical staff regarding the psychiatric and psychosocial challenges faced by patients.

  • Assist clinical staff in managing crisis situations.

  • Complete documentation as required by Equinox and regulatory bodies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to use a computer

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in New York State

  • Experience in acute care of community mental health
