The Opportunity:

You understand your customer's environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into te chn ical specifications, makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution.
As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to deliver products and services to government clients in the directed energy field. You will work on complex te chn ical problems, provide highly innovative solutions, develop advanced te chn ology ideas, and guide system development into a final product. You will apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across one or more components of the system development life cycle ( SDLC ) , including concept development, te chn ical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal. You will participate in program integrated product teams ( IPTs ) and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes. You will need to demonstrate experience with the systems engineering ( SE ) process for system acquisitions, including systems engineering plans, system engineering te chn ical reviews ( SETRs ) , system certification processes, and spe cia lty engineering activities. You'll develop your skills in Systems Engineering, gaining experience in rapid acquisitions and fielding systems aboard Navy ships, and grow your skills in directed energy te chn ology and integration. You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with performing SE for weapons systems
  • 2+ years of experience in using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE tools in the development of architectures, requirements, and interfaces
  • Experience with concept development, design and development of system architecture, systems hardware, and software design and development
  • Experience generating SE requirements for artifacts such as System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Subsystem Requirements Documents (SSRDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Experience with risk management
  • Knowledge of configuration management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and SE certification processes
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in SE with U.S. Navy Surface Ships or armed services' directed energy systems
  • Experience conducting trouble report tracking, test and evaluation of system performance, and documentation of test results
  • Experience using Cameo for MBSE
  • Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira for requirements, Zephyr for test case development, and Confluence for data reporting
  • Experience with Navy Surface Ship weapons integration requirements
  • Experience conducting configuration management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification
  • Knowledge Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques
  • Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs
  • Master's degree
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
