Job description

Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager
Position Overview:
The Assistant Warehouse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the packaging department, ensuring that production standards are met, inventory is maintained, and all orders are fulfilled accurately. This role will require close collaboration with sales, operations, and quality teams to ensure that all packaging remains compliant with industry standards, and that all KPIs related to safety, quality, and productivity are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and be adept at identifying areas for improvement in efficiency and safety, while maintaining a high level of team morale.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily packaging department operations, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all orders.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in safety, product quality, food safety, cost control, and employee morale.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being met or exceeded.
  • Provide coaching to the production team, setting performance goals and driving business results.
  • Provide operational support as needed, including driving deliveries, building manifests, processing intakes, and tagging out products.
  • Maintain high attention to detail in all operations, ensuring product quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure labels are applied correctly and packaging is compliant with cannabis industry regulations.
Label Production & Compliance:
  • Produce labels in-house using Metrc for compliance, strain-specific, and correction labels.
  • Ensure compliance with OLCC (Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission) standards for all products.
  • Manage inventory of all labels required for in-house production and special requests.
  • Conduct quality and compliance checks on packaged products to ensure accuracy, integrity, and legal requirements are met.
  • Communicate packaging inconsistencies or non-compliant products to team members to prevent shipping of non-compliant goods.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all packaging materials and Metrc tags are managed appropriately.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with miscellaneous projects, including re-packaging, organization, and time-sensitive deliveries.
  • Participate in audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee the storage and processing of packaging materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Previous production or warehouse experience preferred, particularly in cannabis or regulated industries.
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Adobe, and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Metrc preferred.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid OLCC Marijuana Workers Permit before starting the position.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with and around cannabis products.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent standing or sitting for 6+ hours.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds in environments with temperatures ranging from 60°F to 100°F.
