    Job Description:


    The Material Handler is responsible for moving production and material throughout the facility and on and off trucks by driving gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, clamps, and elevating platform.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    Loads, unloads, and moves product, ingredients, and other material with a forklift throughout the plant and surrounding area in a safe manner following all safety procedures.
    Become and maintain certification to operator a forklift
    Ensure proper operation of all processing equipment for area they are trained and ensuring the quality of product as specified by customer orders. Assist operators as necessary.
    Weigh materials or products as necessary along with completing and maintaining all documentation accurately.
    Inventory materials in production area and supplies workers with materials as needed.
    Performs daily forklift inspection along with any other safety inspections or checks as required.
    Will be responsible for moving materials and product onto and off pallets, skids or lifting device.
    While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or fell; reach
    with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. You will continuously lift and/or move heavy boxes, containers, equipment or parts, 50 lbs. unassisted, or assist others in moving, shifting, or positioning heavier objects.
    This employee is subject to work in outside environmental conditions and around fumes, odors, dusts, and mists.

    They will be subject to hazards such as working around moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemical and extreme heat and cold and work in small confined spaces or at high levels.


    All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance to the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and  HACCP Programs.
    Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
    Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed.

    • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions. Understand written and oral communications and instructions. Initiative and self-starting ability is important.
