Job description

IAM OKTA Engineer

Columbus, OH

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and troubleshoot SAML 2.0 and OIDC/OAuth2 federation in Okta, including app onboarding from discovery through go-live, covering attribute mapping, IdP/SP-initiated flows, and sign-on policies.
  • Design and roll out Okta MFA, including Okta Verify, FastPass, security keys, and adaptive/contextual policies across diverse application types, including factor enrollment strategy and policy exception handling.
  • Work directly with application owners and development teams to gather integration requirements, translate them into Okta configurations, and manage testing and UAT cycles.
  • Diagnose and resolve SSO and MFA issues spanning IdP routing, certificate and metadata mismatches, session behavior, and conditional access, working across security, network, and application teams as needed.
  • Produce clear runbooks, integration guides, and status reporting to support a multi-app SSO/MFA rollout.

Essentials:

  • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting SAML 2.0 and OIDC/OAuth2 federation in Okta.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying Okta MFA solutions, including adaptive and contextual policies.
  • Ability to work directly with application owners and development teams with minimal oversight.
  • Strong diagnostic skills for SSO and MFA issues across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce runbooks, integration guides, and status reports.
