Iron Oak Energy Solutions, located in Wedron, IL has an immediate opening for a Rail Logistics Coordinator within our Logistics team. The Rail Logistics Coordinator will provide efficient and effective rail problem resolution for both our internal and external stakeholders as well as support and analysis for the logistics team as a whole.
Responsibilities:
  • Closely Monitor outbound loaded railcars to ensure they are moving according to plans.
  • Intervene using tools available to get cars moving again if they become stalled.
  • Ability to communicate verbally & electronically with railroads, (class 1's and shortlines) and customers (internal and external) daily.
  • Prepare and analyze reports for shipments, railcar fleets, transit times.
  • Create trouble tickets in railroad systems and follow-up until issue is resolved.
  • Assist in rail demurrage dispute process for Iron Oak sites as assigned.
  • Interpret and understand demurrage tariffs and be able to provide rail demurrage rate calculations and cost comparisons upon request.
  • Strong sense of urgency and passion to provide outstanding customer service. Must be a self starter who can handle a degree of ambiguity.
  • Troubleshoot railroad waybill submission when issues arise.
  • Work within our TMS maintaining a clean database of railcar activity.
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment, meet deadlines.
  • Cover weekends on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications Include, but are not limited to:
  • Bachelors Degree, focus in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in rail logistics, preferably in bulk commodities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple functions at one time
  • Strong orientation towards teamwork
  • Great organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Experience working in TMS and ERP systems, Experience in Bourque Logistics and IFS Products is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, highly proficient in MS Excel
