A Operator - Oil & Gas Production
Location: Mouton Cove, Louisiana - Federal Waters | Schedule: 14/14 RotationPosition Summary
Quality Process Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced A Operator for a 14/14 rotational position supporting oil and gas production operations in federal waters out of Mouton Cove, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience operating and monitoring oil and gas production equipment, including gas lift wells, pneumatic safety systems, compressors, heater treaters, production separators, and test separators. This position requires an experienced operator who can safely monitor production, recognize operational issues, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain reliable day-to-day operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and monitor oil and gas production facilities and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and optimize gas lift wells and production performance.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot pneumatic safety systems.
  • Operate and monitor compressors and associated production equipment.
  • Operate heater treaters and monitor process conditions.
  • Operate production separators and test separators.
  • Perform well testing and monitor production rates, pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels.
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment and operational issues within the scope of the position.
  • Perform routine inspections and equipment checks to identify leaks, equipment problems, or unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor gauges, meters, control systems, and other instrumentation used in production operations.
  • Assist with startup, shutdown, and isolation of production equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate operating logs, production records, and required documentation.
  • Follow all company and customer safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and other required safety activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel and other operations team members as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an A Operator, Production Operator, Lease Operator, or similar oil and gas production operations role.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and processes.
  • Experience with gas lift wells.
  • Experience with pneumatic safety systems.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting compressors.
  • Experience with heater treaters.
  • Experience with production and test separators.
  • Ability to read and understand gauges, instrumentation, operating procedures, and production data.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an operations team.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work a 14/14 rotational schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current crane certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working in Gulf Coast oil and gas production operations.
  • Experience operating a broad range of standard oil and gas production equipment.
  • Additional applicable oil and gas safety certifications are a plus.
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts as required by the rotational schedule.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work around operating production equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and perform other physical activities associated with production operations.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with all site-specific safety requirements.
Schedule
This position works a 14 days on / 14 days off rotational schedule supporting operations in federal waters out of Mouton Cove, Louisiana.
