How much do oil fifo jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for oil fifo in the United States is $18.82, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.79 and $20.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by Oil FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) workers, and how can they be managed?

Oil FIFO workers often face challenges such as long shifts, extended time away from home, and adapting to remote environments. Managing these challenges involves maintaining good communication with loved ones, prioritizing mental and physical health, and making use of on-site support resources. Many companies offer wellness programs, regular rotations, and opportunities for social interaction to help employees adjust and thrive in these unique settings.

What are Oil FIFO jobs?

Oil FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) jobs are positions in the oil and gas industry where workers are flown to remote worksites, such as oil rigs or mining camps, for a set period before returning home for time off. These roles are common in regions where worksites are too distant for daily commuting. Typical FIFO schedules might involve working several weeks on-site followed by a week or more off. Oil FIFO jobs can include positions like drillers, engineers, mechanics, and health and safety officers. The FIFO arrangement allows companies to access skilled labor while providing workers with extended periods at home.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Oil FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Oil FIFO worker, you generally need relevant trade qualifications or certifications, strong physical fitness, and experience in remote resource operations. Familiarity with safety management systems, machinery operation, and compliance with site-specific certifications like HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) is essential. Adaptability, resilience, and effective teamwork are crucial soft skills due to the demanding and isolated nature of FIFO work. These skills and qualities ensure safety, operational efficiency, and personal well-being in challenging, remote oil industry settings.

Join the Truce Team — Where “Fine Food Fast” Meets Real Passion

At Truce, we’re redefining what food can be. With our tagline “fine food fast,” we serve up clean, sustainable ingredients - always free from artificial additives and seed oils - without sacrificing speed, flavor, or experience.

But what really sets us apart? Our people.

We believe hospitality isn’t just a job, it’s a craft. Our front-of-house team delivers exceptional service that makes every guest feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Behind the scenes, our kitchen and baking teams bring the magic to life, preparing over 180 scratch-made items daily by hand.

Love creativity? Our baristas and beverage servers craft incredible drinks, from rich coffees and refreshing mocktails to energizing protein drinks and house-made sodas that guests can’t stop talking about.

Prefer a fast-paced environment? We’ve got that too. Our convenient drive-thru keeps things moving for guests on the go, perfect for team members who thrive on energy and efficiency.

Why Truce?

  • Be part of something from the ground up. This is our first location, with plans for more on the way!
  • Grow with us! Your opportunity expands as we do.
  • Work with real food, made fresh, every single day.
  • Join a team that truly puts people first, both guests and employees.

Hours of Operation:
7:00 AM – 9:30 PM. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Whether you're passionate about hospitality, love working with your hands, or thrive in a high-energy environment, there’s a place for you at Truce.

Come build something special with us.

We're searching for fabulous Prep Cooks to join our team!!

Position Summary: The Prep Cook is the foundation of the Truce kitchen, responsible for transforming raw, high-quality ingredients into the building blocks of our menu. Because we are a 100% scratch kitchen, your role is vital: you ensure every sauce, protein, and vegetable meets our clean standards before the doors even open. You are responsible for precision, consistency, and speed, ensuring the line is set for success with fresh, chef-driven components prepared without shortcuts or seed oils.

Culinary Execution

  • The Scratch Standard: Execute daily prep lists with total accuracy. Follow recipes exactly to maintain our promise of all-natural ingredients and zero seed oils.
  • Technical Precision: Maintain consistent knife cuts and portioning to ensure uniform cooking and presentation.
  • Volume Management: Efficiently manage your time to complete high-volume prep tasks (scaling recipes, butchery, vegetable prep) within designated timeframes.

Quality Control & Freshness

  • Ingredient Integrity: Inspect all produce and proteins upon arrival for freshness. If it doesn’t meet our premium standard, alert the Kitchen Lead.
  • FIFO & Rotation: Maintain strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) standards. Label, date, and store all prepared items correctly to minimize waste and ensure peak flavor.
  • Taste & Texture: Conduct quality checks on prepared batches to ensure seasonings and textures align with the Truce flavor profile.

Sanitation & Safety

  • Workspace Excellence: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized station.
  • Allergen Awareness: Follow strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring our health-focused guests are protected.
  • Equipment Care: Safely operate and clean food processors, mixers, slicers, and industrial scales.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Professional Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a scratch-cooking environment. Mastery of basic knife skills is required.
  • Ingredient Knowledge: Familiarity with raw, whole ingredients. Experience working in a no seed oil or health-conscious environment is a plus.
  • Detail Oriented: Ability to follow complex recipes and measurements with total consistency.
  • Reliability: An early bird mentality; the ability to show up on time and be prepared to power the kitchen's production.

Qualifications:

  • Above average math skills.
  • A positive attitude and good manners.
  • Neat personal appearance and proper personal hygiene.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language(s) of the work location. Fluency in English may be essential for certain customer service stations within this position.
