Head Varsity Basketball Coach (Winter Season 2026-2027)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the following:
• Develop and implement training programs for student-athletes.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and
sportsmanship.
• Plan and conduct practices, games, and competitions. Must attend all camps,
practices, games, and tournaments.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school
administration.
• Manage team logistics, including scheduling, travel, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and OHSAA policies, as well as GGCL
regulations and Mercy Education teachings/values.
Candidates must have experience coaching at the high school or college level or
significant experience with high school aged kids. Candidates must obtain all background
checks and licensure as required by the archdioceses. Candidates must have/be willing to
obtain a Pupil Activity Permit and all other OHSAA mandated requirements. Ideal
candidates should be organized, have excellent communication and problem-solving
skills, and be a good role model and leader for students.
