Bryan High School is seeking a Head Varsity Softball Coach for the high school softball team. This position will be involved in helping develop student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally while maintaining compliance with ODE, OHSAA, NFHS, and district guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Plan, organize, and conduct all daily practices, skill development sessions, and game-day strategies for the varsity program.
  • Youth & Community Engagement: Partner actively with the local youth softball association to align player development strategies, coordinate youth camps, and build a cohesive system that drives future high school participation.
  • Instruction: Teach advanced softball fundamentals, situational game strategies, pitching/hitting mechanics, and proper sportsmanship.
  • Supervision: Oversee student-athletes at all practices, games, team travel, and team events.
  • Team Operations: Manage roster development, game scheduling, lineup management, and coordinate closely with junior varsity and youth programs.
  • Student Growth: Promote academic eligibility, positive behavior, and a strong culture of peer leadership.
  • Inventory & Safety: Maintain softball equipment, oversee field maintenance and preparation, and ensure a safe training and playing environment.

Compliance & Safety
  • Follow all ODE, OHSAA, NFHS, and district policies.
  • Maintain required certifications (Pupil Activity Permit, NFHS courses, CPR/First Aid/AED).
  • Adhere to all safety and supervision requirements, including severe weather and field condition protocols.
