WHAT IS THE JOB?
As Manager, Logistics you will develop strategies to efficiently move freight while balancing cost, speed, and reliability of delivery relative to our business goals. You will continuously monitor our freight methods and costs. You will manage carrier relationships to track performance, ensure shipments arrive on time and remain competitive on cost. You will manage documentation, troubleshoot any logistics disruptions and ensure merchandise is handled efficiently and with an attention to detail that reflects Mashburn's dedication to service & style.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES?
  • Develop and continuously improve freight strategies, including mode, route, load optimization and carrier negotiations to reduce cost, improve on time performance and efficiency
  • Manage carrier relationships from selection, rate and contract negotiations to performance tracking
  • Own the on-time delivery of goods, providing end to end tracking status to plan and addressing any delays or issues that may arise
  • Handle all necessary paperwork to facilitate compliance with regulations and standards for customs clearance
  • Analyze all data around freight performance to identify key opportunities and initiate operational improvements
  • Manage forecast of freight costs and analysis and reporting of actual costs to plan and forecast
  • Develop freight SOPs and ensure they are followed by all
  • Strong partnership with internal and external partners including Brokers, Carriers, Production, Merchandising, and the Distribution Center.
  • Consistently communicate key metrics and performance to internal partners and Management.
  • Grow and manage a team: set direction, establish clarity, staff development

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS?
  • Attention to detail in all things.
  • 5+ years of logistics experience with a focus on international freight management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with high level comfort digging into data directly
  • Familiarity with HTS codes and a strong understanding of Incoterms
  • Geopolitical awareness
  • Project Management and ability to solve problems
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of and desire to optimize and leverage relevant technologies (WMS, ERP, etc.).
  • Ability to switch between tasks quickly with an eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, ability to bounce back from interruptions.
  • Recognition of own strengths and weaknesses, and courage to ask for help when needed.
