Business Office Assistant 

Do you have a passion for caring for others?  Are you looking for a great work environment where you can make a difference?  The Pearl of Naperville is looking for a reliable, organized, compassionate, energetic and customer service focused Full Time Business Office Assistant to join our team.  The Business Office Assistant will support the Regional Business Office Manager in overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Naperville Business Office.   

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains resident files.  

  • Prepares and maintains required reports, records and surveys. 

  • Assists residents and families with the application and approval process for Public Aide / Medicaid, Medicare, SS and / or private insurance benefits.  

  • Serves as a customer service representative with families regarding financial inquiries. 

  • Interacts with patients, families, co-workers, visitors and other customers in tactful, diplomatic and caring manner. 

  • Assists in the completion of documentation for Medicaid benefits for beneficiaries as necessary. 

  • Updates logs and information into Medicaid system. 

  • Assists with submitting admission data accurately and timely into PCC as necessary.  

  • Assists with contracts.   

  • Performs Resident Trust Fund duties including disbursements and deposits.  

  • Assists with monthly reporting and participates in weekly/monthly AR calls. 

  • Processes deposits.  

  • Attends and participates in facility Department Head meetings and functions as directed by the facility Administrator and/or HR.  

  • Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and facility policy.  

  • Adheres to the budget guidelines for the department. 

  • Follows established safety policies and procedures.  

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • 2-3 years of experience in a customer service role required, preferably in a Healthcare setting 

  • Strong communication skills, multi-task oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 

  • Must be competent in Microsoft Office products and be willing to learn other systems.
