Summary/Objective: In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve; the business office is responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency of accounts receivable though appropriate postings and processing. The Business office assistant will monitor incoming payments as well as secure revenue through managing outstanding aging.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Reviews cash balances daily for mispostings, correcting any errors by reversing misposted cash when necessary.
2. Sorts mail and deposits funds received to appropriate accounts.
3. Scans Medicaid vouchers as received and uploads to appropriate accounts.
4. Completes manual coinsurance adjustment batches and any other write-off adjustment batches.
5. Reviews LTC Patient Roster reconciliation report prior to Hospice and Medicaid billing.
6. Generates VA/Hospice billing statements and submits accordingly by the 5th of the month and respond to any VA/Hospice inquiries received.
7. Follows up on Medicaid, Hospice Medicaid, and VA aging and identifies any inconsistencies and resolve them timely to secure payment.
8. Completes redeterminations and submit them as received and communicates with Medicaid caseworkers to ensure the redeterminations are processed.
9. Ensures the completion of the reconciled weekly LTC report by the BOM.
10. Prints and mails RFMS checks as needed and completes and upload RFMS stop payments when necessary.
11. Participates in Medicaid meetings regularly and complete any tasks assigned.
12. Reconciles pending Admit Tracking list monthly and requests any missing admissions packets as needed.
13. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.
14. Recognize your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts of your organization.
15. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
16. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
17. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
18. Any noted opportunities for improvement will be shared with leadership in the organization.
19. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
20. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
21. Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.
