Job Summary
Greets visitors and performs general administrative duties associated with departmental operations. Handles incoming calls and may operate a multi-line telephone system. May assist other administrative staff with overflow work, including word processing and data entry.
Responsibilities
  • Manage reception area or front desk maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring confidential information is secure
  • Serve as a resource for all faculty, staff and guests visiting the assigned office and assist as needed
  • Responsible for answering phones and e-mail providing information and/or transferring or redirecting calls to the appropriate contact
  • Check visitors in and direct or escort to specific destinations
  • Perform administrative duties, ie copy, file, data entry and maintain paper or electronic documents and records
  • Schedule meetings, arrange appointments and reserve meeting spaces
  • Manage mail
  • Manage and maintain inventory of office supplies
  • Process personnel and payroll information
  • Supervise student assistants
  • Monitor expenditures; accept funds, and give receipts for services, if applicable

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • Six (6) months or more of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with document imaging, records management, and associated programs
  • Previous experience in higher education

Proposed Salary
$16.45 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
