Job description

PURPOSE OF JOB
This position will perform routine clerical/administrative support and provide customer service assistance to the public. Responsibilities include selling lottery tickets, preparing documents, operating office machines, and performing general administrative or office functions as needed (i.e., typing correspondence, memos and other reports).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintains manual and/or computerized filing systems, including, but not limited to entering data, cross indexing and filing documents.
Operates computer terminal to verify input and retrieve data.
Prepares copies of records, forms and other documents.
Researches information and compiles statistical data.
Sells lottery tickets to and redeems winning tickets for the general public.
Performs daily cash reconciliations and fills out appropriate documentation.
Receives routes and sends facsimiles.
Performs receptionist duties such as greeting and routing visitors and ensuring visitors have appropriate badges.
Receives, unloads and stores tickets, Point-of-sales items and other related items.
Process claims for winning players.
Types correspondence, memos, reports and other documents.
Assists Office Supervisor with special projects.
Responds to questions, complaints and requests for information by telephone, in person or by mail from retailers, players, employees, etc.
Answers telephone utilizing accepted format; provides information, advice and guidance; takes and relays messages and/or directs calls to appropriate personnel.
Prepares, maintains and updates files and logs following prescribed methods.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
High School diploma or equivalent; at least six months to one year or more of clerical or office experience.
Skillful use of office equipment and computers; basic experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Must have good organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to maintain confidential information, and the ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials and supplies on occasion.
May be required to lift up to 50lbs.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
