SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - INLAND EMPIRE DISTRICT / LAKE PERRIS STATE RECREATION AREA
"Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program)."
The Senior Park Aide (Seasonal) reporting location is Lake Perris State Recreation Area, located at 17801 Lake Perris, Perris, CA 92571. The Senior Park Aide will work under the general supervision of the District Administrative Supervisor and will support the Sector Superintendent and Sector operations.
The Inland Empire District consists of Lake Perris State Recreation Area, Chino Hills State Park, California Citrus State Historic Park, Mount San Jacinto State Park, Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area, Providence Mountain State Park, San Timoteo Canyon State Park, and Wildwood Canyon State Park. All parks listed are managed by a State Park Superintendent V and further organized into the following functions: Visitor Services, Aquatic Services, Maintenance Services, and Administrative Services.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Park Aide is to assist the Office Technician in providing operational and administrative support to Lake Perris State Recreation Area Sector Office. The Senior Park Aide will perform general clerical procedures, office reception, answer multiple phone lines, use multiple computer programs, process and distribute mail, and other administrative duties as assigned. The Senior Park Aide will work at the front desk of a public office and should expect regular interaction with the public and provide customer service. Must be attentive to the needs of the public in a respectful and professional manner and provide good customer service.
Peak season dates are May 1 st through September 30 th and this position may be asked to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to provide operational coverage. This position is intermittent and may work up to 189 days in a 12-month period. Schedules are written monthly, and hours vary based on operational need. The position may travel throughout the district to provide support for other park units as needed, and to attend training.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures (over 100 in the summer and near freezing in the winter), elevated heights, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Daily and frequent use of a personal computer and a variety of office software applications, including web-based and social media communications at a workstation. Sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Involves interpersonal interactions with visitors, community organizations, students, academics, and staff. Must be able to lift/push/pull 20 pounds.
