Job description

Proof of the Pudding is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to assist in the coordination of day-end off-premise catering events. The PM shift will oversee the unloading of event box trucks, lead the evening team, and close down and lock up the facilities and trucks. A typical shift will begin in the late afternoon and end when the final truck returns (~12am-2am).
To be successful, the ideal candidate is a responsible, hands-on operations lead with proven skills of inventory control, effective product management, and exceptional leadership qualities. The Warehouse Supervisor will work out of our Atlanta office in West Midtown.
Description
  • Assist in managing all warehouse staff: Event Day Packers, Warehouse Associates, and Event Stewards
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Unpacking and organizing equipment returned to warehouse.
  • Assist Warehouse GM with monthly inventory
  • Responsible for the closing of facility, ensuring all access points and vehicles are locked, the warehouse is clean and organized, and any morning events are ready to be loaded.
  • Assist Warehouse GM with company fleet management/maintenance. Assuring that vehicles are clean, fueled, and safe for use at all times
  • Assist with training new and existing warehouse staff on safety policies, proof standards, and more.
  • Performs transfers of products and/or merchandise to and from the warehouse
  • Responsible for receiving products and merchandise, checking for quality and damages to items, and the proper storage of the delivered products and merchandise
  • Assist in unloading trucks, transferring equipment between outlets, and sorting equipment/dishware.
  • Assists warehouse team with equipment & inventory control.
  • Processes requests for supplies, prepares merchandise for delivery, and prepares packages for shipping according to established procedures
  • Responsible for post event set-up/break down responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing rental equipment, assuring that pick up and delivery of items are accurate and on time. This includes linens, tables, chairs, chinaware, glassware, silverware, etc.

Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • 2+ year of warehouse lead experience, food service or catering warehouse experience is preferred
  • Must be available for the PM shift that is typically late afternoon to when the final truck returns (~12am-2am)
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to be DOT certified and have the ability/willingness to drive box trucks.
  • Experience in operating common warehouse machinery including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and following all safety protocols
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be organized
  • Must be proactive and hands-on

Work Environment
This position will work out of the corporate office located in West Midtown with the Off-Premise Catering team. This role will be moving throughout the warehouse, lifting, carrying, arranging, cleaning, and organizing equipment. This role will also drive box trucks, close the facilities, and help monitor truck maintenance.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through the office and warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, hauling equipment, and operating basic warehouse machinery.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to lifting up to 60 lbs

Position Salary & Benefits:
  • This is an hourly, full-time position at $25/hr
