Job description

Director, Product Management - Digital Transformation
Charlotte, NC - Hybrid
About Odyssey Logistics
Odyssey Logistics is a global logistics and supply chain partner helping businesses optimize performance through fully integrated, end-to-end solutions. We connect transportation, technology, and expertise across a broad network of services including 3PL and 4PL managed services, multimodal and intermodal transport, warehousing, trucking, Jones Act Ocean, and customs brokerage, ensuring goods move reliably, efficiently, and intelligently around the world.
Today, Odyssey supports more than 6,000 customers globally, delivering scalable, data driven solutions across complex supply chains. What started with a single client has grown into a dynamic, evolving organization focused on performance, precision, and long term partnership.
What Sets Us Apart:
Our work is complex, fast moving, and highly collaborative. Success here requires people who think strategically, operate with urgency, and navigate across functions to solve real business challenges. We value individuals who take ownership, challenge the status quo, and turn insight into action.
Our culture is grounded in five core values: Win Together, Innovate Boldly, Drive Results, Customer Centric, and Guide with Care. These are not just principles; they shape how we make decisions, partner with customers, and show up for each other.
At Odyssey, you are not just part of a company; you are part of building what comes next.
The Role:
Work Model: Hybrid
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours (average 40 hrs/week)
Travel Requirements: Minimal; occasional travel as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
Reports to: VP of Digital Transformation
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed.
Summary / Primary Role:
The Director, Product Management - Digital Transformation owns the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for Odyssey's core Transportation Management System (TMS) platform, spanning new capability development, production support, and user experience. This leader partners closely with the VP of Digital Transformation to translate enterprise strategy into an executable product roadmap, directing a blended onsite/offshore team and building strong working relationships across engineering and business unit leadership (IML, Intermodal, T&W, Managed Services, Freight Brokerage) to drive scalable, high-adoption product outcomes.
What You'll Do:
We're looking for a strategic, hands-on product leader who can balance new capability development with production support, drive user experience improvements, and lead a distributed team to deliver a high-adoption TMS platform.
  • Product Vision & Roadmap Leadership
    • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end product lifecycle for the TMS platform, balancing net-new development with ongoing production support.
    • Partner with the VP of Digital Transformation to align product strategy with broader digital transformation and AI initiatives, leveraging data and analytics to validate roadmap priorities, support/defect trends, and feature adoption.
  • Team Leadership & Delivery
    • Direct a blended onsite/offshore team of product managers/owners, ensuring clear prioritization, consistent delivery cadence, and effective handoff of requirements to engineering.
    • Mentor product managers/owners on requirements definition and backlog management, and manage effectively across time zones with distributed and offshore delivery teams using agile delivery practices.
  • Platform Support & User Experience
    • Drive the TMS support function - triaging defects, prioritizing fixes, and ensuring SLAs are met - while protecting roadmap capacity for strategic development.
    • Champion user experience across TMS workflows and translate complex business unit and customer requirements into scalable product configurations, minimizing one-off customizations.
  • Strategic Planning & Executive Reporting
    • Proactively manage the investment portfolio across new features, technical debt, and platform stability to support long-term scalability, and develop training, communication, and rollout plans to drive adoption of new TMS capabilities.
    • Monitor TMS/logistics-technology industry trends, collaborate with other product directors to identify and reuse common platform solutions, and report roadmap progress, support metrics, and key risks to executive leadership.

What You Bring:
  • 5-7 years of product management experience, ideally within logistics, freight, or supply chain technology; working knowledge of truckload and LTL freight operations is a plus. Demonstrated experience owning both product development and production support for an enterprise platform (TMS experience strongly preferred)
  • 2-5 years of experience managing product owners and/or product managers, including distributed/offshore team members
  • Working familiarity with enterprise TMS platforms and the operational workflows they support, and agile delivery experience partnering with engineering and enterprise architecture teams
  • Strong business analysis, problem-solving, and strategy development skills; excellent executive communication skills, comfortable presenting roadmap and support metrics to senior leadership
  • Experience partnering with UX/design functions to improve platform usability, with the grit and determination to deliver on time in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Compensation & Schedule Details:
Bonus Eligible: Yes
Commission Eligible: No
No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed. All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
• A choice of medical plans with FSA and HSA options
• Dental Insurance
• Vision Insurance
• Company-paid Life and Disability Insurance
• 401(k) Plan with Company Match
• Paid Time Off (PTO) and Company Holidays
• Employee Assistance Program
• Company Health & Wellness Program
• Discounts with Preferred Vendors
At Odyssey, we believe the best ideas come from people with different skills, experiences, and perspectives. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and evaluate every candidate based on the qualifications needed for the role, while also valuing the unique strengths, curiosity, and fresh thinking each person brings. Our commitment to inclusion helps fuel innovation and enables us to deliver smarter, more creative solutions for our customers.
