Job description

The Lead Operator(s) coordinate daily manufacturing functions; including staging work based on schedule/shipping priorities; monitoring the progress of orders to ensure the production schedule is being met; and when needed working at one of the manufacturing processes.

The Lead Operator works with Engineering to ensure the correct procedures and techniques are being followed and assist operators as needed with troubleshooting, operational problems, review, and completion of documentation.

The Lead Operator regularly assists in all aspects of product defect analysis and initiates appropriate corrective actions as required through engineering.

The Lead Operator will perform SAP and OCS database functions as required to support Production.

Provides feedback to Engineering and Operations related to overall process improvement, cost reduction, safety and clean and neat activities(6S).

Leads also represent the tip of the spear with respect to the Leadership at OCS. They often are faced with issues first-hand and need to be able to handle conflicts and mitigate personnel issues in the moment. This takes a stable demeanor and knowledge of when to escalate shop floor issues to OCS Leadership.

On-the-Job Experience and Training Requirements:

The Lead Operator must be certified in manufacturing or support positions at OFS. Requires 2 to 4 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on assembly, piece work or areas supporting such processes.

The Lead Operator must achieve required hours of on-the-job training and complete certification and written process knowledge test(s) after completion of training.

  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
  • Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures
