Network Support / Field Technician

Reports to: Site Lead/Program Manager

Primary Work Location: Remote / CONUS and OCONUS Installations

Schedule: 1st Project is scheduled for Mid-May 2026, Camp Roberts, CA

Position Overview

We are seeking a project based Network Support / Field Technician for an immediate need. We are looking for experienced technicians to execute short-term, โ€œon-demandโ€ tasks based on Government customer requirements at both CONUS and OCONUS installations.

Primary Tasks Include:

  • Installing racks on raised floor tiles
  • Populating racks per elevation drawings
  • Performing grounding
  • Installing power cords
  • Installing structured cabling


Responsibilities / Duties

As a Network Support / Field Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing advanced IT de-installations and installations of IT racks, components, and cabling, including expert-level running, terminating, and testing of copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Participating in complex IT cabling installation tasks, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex cabling and connectivity issues independently, demonstrating a deep understanding of network integrity and performance.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and site-specific procedures to ensure a safe working environment, especially when working at heights utilizing ladders and other equipment.
  • Communicating effectively with the project lead and team members regarding progress, challenges, and requirements, and contributing to project documentation.


Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or equivalent military school.
  • Certification: BICSI installer level 1 (INST1) certification or higher. Certification substitution is acceptable if the certifications include the equivalent areas of the BICSI certification, can be verified, and are current within the 3 years before the substitution.
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience in two or more of the following specialties:
    • automation hardware,
    • operating systems,
    • automation security systems,
    • server virtualization,
    • videoconferencing,
    • fiber optic cabling, audio / visual systems,
    • network and systems management and control, media access / digital interfaces,
    • software applications,
    • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP),
    • system and/or network protocols.
  • Previous experience in DoD IT projects.
  • Trained and certified in code compliance and warranties for installation IT equipment and materials.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a valid driverโ€™s license and on-post driving privileges at Fort Huachuca and other CONUS Army installations.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.


Preferred Skills/Knowledge

  • BICSI installation level 2, Optical Fiber certification
  • Experience with SIPR network infrastructure or other classified network installations.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving system-level issues related to telecommunications cabling.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment, often requiring independent judgment.
  • Expert proficiency in common testing equipment for network cabling and diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and leadership.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb (ladders), and reach.
  • Repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer monitor, and extensive reading.
  • May be exposed to varying environmental conditions typical of construction or IT installation sites.
