Description:

As a leading provider in the resilient flooring industry, Bossen New Materials Corp. specializes in developing high-performance solutions designed to meet the constantly evolving needs of the flooring industry including both the residential and commercial channels. We are looking for a Safety Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, conducting audits, providing training, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

§ Assist operations in investigating safety-related incidents and ensure implementation of effective and sustainable corrective actions.

§ Assist with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events.

§ Conduct safety&environmental audits, inspections, and assessments to identify improvement opportunities and assist management with the implementation of recommended solutions.

§ Evaluate the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and implement safeguards and solutions.

§ Implement, manage, and monitor company's ISO 9001, 14001 &45001 certification.

§ Integration with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and safety checklist and safety systems maintenance.

§ Maintain the Safety Program and other policies.

§ Make regularly scheduled visits to job sites and perform thorough walkthroughs.

§ Manage and support fire prevention, hazardous waste, inclement weather, and other safety-related functions.

§ Manage the training for Forklift Certification.

§ Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.

§ Partner with management teams to understand safety concerns, opportunities, gaps, and collaborate to identify solutions.

§ Recommend new policies and procedures to reduce occupational health and safety risks.

§ Responsible for completing any other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

§ Support operations in managing injury cases and utilizes OSHA recordkeeping knowledge.

§ Train employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

§ Write and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation.


Requirements:

Knowledge & Experience

§ A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of safety-related current experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment

§ Strong hazard analysis capabilities/skills

§ Ability to investigate matters, draw conclusions and implement corrective actions and recommendations

§ Ability to work with discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision

§ Adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, able to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and group activities and processes

§ Able to work independently and across multiple teams and levels within and outside of the organization and take initiative on projects

§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

§ Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook

Education & Certification(s)

§ Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent years’ experience in a related field (safety, security, risk management, compliance, environmental health)

§ OSHA 30-Hour Required

§ Must be First Aid, CPR, AED certified
