Primary FunctionThe night shift Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides occupational health services to employees at a Federal Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The RN delivers clinical care, workplace injury assessment and treatment, emergency response services, health screenings, medical surveillance support, immunizations, wellness initiatives, and workers' compensation case management. The position supports a 24-hour, five-day-per-week occupational health operation dedicated to maintaining employee health, safety, and readiness.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established nursing standards, occupational health best practices, applicable federal regulations, HIPAA requirements, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized.
- Provide occupational health nursing services to employees and contractors.
- Assess and treat workplace illnesses and injuries within the facility's scope.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Serve as a nurse case manager for workers' compensation cases.
- Conduct health screenings, audiometric testing, spirometry testing, and wellness assessments.
- Administer immunizations, allergy injections, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist with fitness-for-duty evaluations and medical surveillance programs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA and federal regulations.
- Utilize occupational health and safety software and Microsoft Office applications to document patient encounters and support reporting requirements.
- Support employee wellness initiatives and health education programs.
- Monitor and communicate urgent health-related issues and support medical leadership as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 2 years' experience as an Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, or Occupational Health nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must be able to be favorably credentialed.
- Experience using electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain favorable background investigations.
- Meet the contract requirements for all immunizations.
- Must complete and maintain all required clinical certifications and contract-mandated training, including BLS, spirometry, hearing conservation, HIPAA, and related occupational health requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Occupational Health Nurse certification (COHN or COHN-S).
- Previous federal occupational health experience.
- Experience supporting workers' compensation programs and injury management.
- Experience conducting audiometric and spirometry testing.
- Familiarity with OSHA, workplace safety, and employee wellness programs.
- Prior experience working in a 24/5 occupational health clinic environment.
- Work is performed within a secure federal facility.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and responding to medical emergencies.
- May be required to travel throughout the facility to provide emergency response services.
- Must maintain professional medical attire while on duty.
- Position supports overnight operations, typically 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
