Job description

At Realtor.com we are building products that empower millions of homebuyers, renters, and real estate professionals to navigate the journey of home ownership with confidence. As data sits at the heart of everything we do, protecting it is a strategic priority. In support of our journey to modernize for scale and innovation, we are seeking a SOX Compliance Analyst to lead our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program across all Snowflake environments. This role sits within the Data Governance function and is critical to ensuring that our data infrastructure meets the highest standards of security, integrity, and regulatory accountability.

As our SOX Compliance Analyst, you will serve as the centralized point of contact for all SOX-related technical audit evidence, working closely with the Finance audit function, Data Governance, and engineering teams. You will own the end-to-end implementation of SOX controls within Snowflake, from identity and access management to change management, disaster recovery, and continuous monitoring, ensuring we achieve and maintain compliance across all Snowflake table sets.

Top reasons to apply:
  • Build a Cloud-Compliance Strategy from Scratch: You will have the unique career runway to architect and implement an enterprise-wide SOX compliance framework inside Snowflake from the ground up, moving the company past fragmented processes into a mature, modern data governance model.

  • Drive High-Impact Visibility as a Cross-Functional Enabler: This is not a siloed, checkbox compliance role. You will act as the central technical hub independently networking across Finance, Data Governance, Data Council, and Engineering teams to shield Realtor.com from audit risks while keeping product analytics fast and agile.

What you'll do:
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of SOX compliance across all Snowflake instances, serving as the organization's subject matter expert for data-layer SOX controls.
  • Maintain and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) within Snowflake, ensuring all data access adheres to the principle of least privilege.
  • Conduct and manage periodic user access reviews as part of the broader identity and access governance program.
  • Establish and enforce segregation of duties through standardized testing and code deployment practices within the Data Governance framework.
  • Enable and maintain comprehensive auditing, logging, and monitoring capabilities across Snowflake environments.
  • Act as the centralized point of contact for all technical audit evidence, coordinating with both internal and external auditors to shorten the audit cycle and reduce external auditor fees.
  • Formalize and document change management processes for Snowflake to ensure controlled, traceable, and auditable modifications to data infrastructure.
  • Lead disaster recovery planning and testing for Snowflake, ensuring business continuity and data availability in the event of an incident.
  • Partner with the CCPA compliance program to support Observepoint pixel scans and ensure data collection practices remain compliant with domestic regulatory requirements.
  • Work within the Data Governance framework to align SOX controls with broader governance policies, standards, and the Data Council.
  • Contribute to making Snowflake the authoritative system of record by ensuring all compliance standards are embedded into data workflows from the ground up.
What you'll bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in compliance, data governance, or a related field, with at least 2 years of hands-on SOX compliance experience in a technology or data environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), particularly IT General Controls (ITGCs) and their application to cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience managing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and identity governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies and the ability to formalize and enforce deployment standards within a data engineering or analytics environment.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including gathering, organizing, and presenting technical audit evidence.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations, including CCPA, and their intersection with SOX requirements.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into actionable technical controls.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, finance, legal, and business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with SQL for data querying and evidence validation within cloud data warehouse environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including its native security and governance features (e.g., dynamic data masking, row access policies, query history).
  • Certification in compliance, audit, or information security (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CIA, CDMP, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications for compliance automation, including anomaly detection and PII identification tools.
  • Experience with data catalog tools (e.g., Acryl, Collibra, Alation) to support metadata management and compliance documentation.
  • Knowledge of Observepoint or similar pixel scanning tools for CCPA regulatory compliance.
  • Exposure to BI and monitoring tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) for compliance dashboarding and reporting.
