Job description

Job Title: Senior Dynatrace Observability Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Dynatrace Observability Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise observability solutions using Dynatrace across complex hybrid and cloud environments. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for full‑stack observability, proactive performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and enablement of application, infrastructure, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep Dynatrace expertise, strong APM and infrastructure monitoring experience, and the ability to translate telemetry data into actionable insights that improve system reliability, performance, and user experience.


Key Responsibilities

Dynatrace Platform Leadership

·      Architect, deploy, and administer Dynatrace across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments

·      Design observability strategies leveraging APM, infrastructure monitoring, RUM, synthetic monitoring, logs, metrics, and events

·      Manage Dynatrace OneAgent deployment, versioning, and configuration at scale


Monitoring & Performance Engineering

·      Implement end‑to‑end application performance monitoring for microservices, distributed systems, and legacy applications

·      Configure dashboards, alerts, anomaly detection, and service‑level objectives (SLOs)

·      Utilize Davis AI® for root cause analysis and proactive issue detection


Integration & Automation

·      Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and collaboration tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps)

·      Support automation and monitoring-as-code using APIs, extensions, policies, tagging, and management zones

·      Enable DevOps and SRE use cases, including release validation and continuous monitoring


Consulting & Enablement

·      Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to align observability with business outcomes

·      Provide technical guidance, documentation, and best practices

·      Support incident response, performance troubleshooting, and post‑incident analysis


Required Qualifications

·      5+ years of experience in observability, APM, performance engineering, or platform monitoring

·      3+ years of hands‑on Dynatrace implementation and administration

·      Strong experience monitoring:

o  Java, .NET, Node.js, or similar application stacks

o  Kubernetes, containers, and microservices

o  Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)

·      Solid understanding of networking concepts, infrastructure monitoring, and distributed systems

·      Experience integrating Dynatrace with CI/CD pipelines and ITSM tools

·      Ability to analyze complex performance data and communicate findings clearly


Preferred Qualifications

·      Dynatrace certifications (Associate, Specialist, or Professional)

·      Experience with SRE or DevOps practices

·      Exposure to log analytics, OpenTelemetry, or custom instrumentation

·      Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, APIs)

·      Consulting or customer‑facing experience
