The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The OB Technician assists the nursing and medical staff in providing safe, high quality, patient-centered care in the Labor & Delivery setting,

This role is essential in supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring readiness of equipment and supplies,

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician or OB Technician program OR equivalent experience
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred

  • Prior experience in Labor & Delivery or Operating Room
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and sterile technique

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Must be available to work 2 shifts a month- 1 of them being a weekend shift
  • Must work 1 Summer Holiday
  • Must work 1 Winter Holiday

Essential Functions:

  • Assist physicians and nurses during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
  • Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
  • Prepare delivery rooms and operating rooms for procedures
  • Perform surgical scrub duties for C-sections
  • Stock and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment
  • Assist with patient transport and positioning
  • Clean, disinfect, and turnover rooms between patients.
  • Support emergency situations such as stat sections, hemorrhage etc
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
