Job description

Department:Women & Children’s Health

Location:Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, 2333 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192

Schedule:Full-Time (36 Hours/Week)

Shift:Midnight Shift 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

General Summary:

We’re looking for a dedicated Obstetrical Technician to join our team and support safe, compassionate care for our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you’ll assist with direct patient care to ensure safety and comfort during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. In this role, you’ll play a key part in peri-operative obstetrical care—scrubbing in on surgical procedures (including cesarean sections) and performing essential support tasks in the OB OR. You’ll also contribute to patient care planning and respond confidently to emergent situations, all within a fast-paced, team-centered environment that values your expertise.

About Our Unit:

This dynamic unit includes Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP), OB Operating Room, Postpartum care, and a Special Care Nursery (SCN). You’ll join a collaborative, patient-centered environment supported by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care throughout every stage of the birthing experience.

Education/Experience Required:

· High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

· Preferred candidates will bring prior experience in high-volume and/or critical care settings.

Certifications/Licensures Required:

· Successfully completion of Obstetrical Technician orientation and completion of specified competencies within the probationary period.

· Current BLS-Heart Saver.
