Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and highly analytical Hardship Case Advisor to support employees navigating challenging life events and personal hardships. In this role, you will review sensitive cases, assess individual circumstances, and determine appropriate solutions, resources, and support options.
This position is ideal for professionals with backgrounds in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Case Management, Leave Administration, Employee Advocacy, Crisis Support, or similar fields who are passionate about helping people while making thoughtful, objective decisions.
Success in this role requires strong judgment, empathy, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM PST (please be cognizant of timezone when applying to the role)
Contract Duration: 6 months to start with opportunity for extension
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and manage employee hardship cases from intake through resolution.
  • Evaluate complex situations involving housing instability, family emergencies, bereavement, safety concerns, financial hardship, and other life challenges.
  • Assess risk factors and apply established guidelines to determine appropriate outcomes and support options.
  • Connect employees with relevant resources and services based on their individual circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation while ensuring confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex cases and remove barriers to support.
  • Exercise independent judgment and make informed decisions in sensitive situations.
  • Manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Navigate multiple systems and tools to research, document, and process case activity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Case Management, Employee Support Services, Leave Administration, Social Services, Crisis Support, or a related field.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems and tools simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
