This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

The Position

We are seeking an Associate with a minimum of 4 years of litigation experience to join a seasoned team of attorneys representing clients in a range of matters including general liability and casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation, and trucking, and more! The team is dedicated to training and advancing the professional experience and knowledge of its attorneys. 

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage cases in insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and NYS Labor Law construction matters, showcasing your expertise and strategic acumen.
  • Partner with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects, fostering a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions, demonstrating your litigation skills and dedication to each case. 
  • Engage closely with clients, delivering clear, timely updates and guidance to keep them informed every step of the way.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York
  • 4+ years of litigation experience with cases taken to mediation or trial.
  • Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability
  • Understanding of NY Construction Law (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) is a plus, bringing valuable insight into complex cases.
  • Experience with OSHA hearings is a plus, and any background with Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office is a plus.
  • Superior analytical abilities to breakdown complex legal issues.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in independently managing caseloads with accountability and precision.
  • Familiarity with legal project management experience is a bonus for streamlined case handling.
