Job description

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A or B Driver to join our team in Middle Village, NY. The CDL Driver will be responsible for safely transporting HVAC equipment, materials, parts, and supplies to customers and job sites throughout the New York City area and surrounding markets.


The ideal candidate has a strong driving record, excellent knowledge of NYC-area roads, and experience handling commercial deliveries. This position requires someone who is reliable, professional, physically capable of handling materials, and committed to providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company CDL Class A and/or CDL Class B vehicles in compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
  • Make scheduled deliveries of HVAC equipment, materials, parts, and supplies to customers and job sites.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while preventing damage to products.
  • Verify delivery quantities, customer orders, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment as required.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with loading and staging deliveries when needed.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures or electronic confirmations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and management.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes while navigating NYC traffic and changing road conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck and ensure all cargo is properly secured.
  • Follow all applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Perform other warehouse and delivery-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean or acceptable driving record.
  • Previous commercial driving and delivery experience preferred.
  • Experience transporting HVAC, construction, building materials, or other industrial products is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NYC, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, and surrounding areas preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials as required.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lift-gate equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete delivery documentation.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to enter and exit a commercial vehicle repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely secure and unload cargo.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.

Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Schedule may vary based on delivery routes, customer requirements, and business needs. Occasional overtime or additional hours may be required.
