Job Description – Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Employee- 6.5 hour

POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Employee -6.5 hour

1. High school graduate or equivalent (GED) preferred.
2. Ability to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
3. Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
4. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
5. Good physical and emotional health, including the ability to perform duties described in the essential functions.
6. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional control in the workplace.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager

UNDER THE DIRECTION OF: Child Nutrition Program Director

To support the successful operation of the Child Nutrition Program by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, supporting facility cleanliness, and providing professional customer service in accordance with federal, state, local, and district requirements.

1. Performs duties in accordance with federal, state, local, and district Child Nutrition Program regulations and procedures.
2. Follows the established Child Nutrition Program chain of command and complies with supervisory direction, operational procedures, and district expectations.
3. Assists with food preparation, portioning, cooking, baking, packaging, and serving of meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
4. Accurately follows recipes, serving sizes, meal pattern requirements, and food production procedures.
5. Prepares and maintains serving lines for meal service and replenishes food and supplies as needed.
6. Assists with cashiering, meal service, customer service, and other operational duties as assigned.
7. Maintains clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly kitchen, storage, serving, dishwashing, dining, and loading areas in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.
8. Assists with dishwashing, cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and other sanitation responsibilities necessary for efficient cafeteria operations.
9. Receives, stores, rotates, transports, and properly handles food supplies, and deliveries according to established procedures.
10. Assists with stocking and inventory organization to support efficient kitchen operations.
11. Uses and maintains kitchen equipment properly and safely.
12. Assists with operational needs during staffing shortages and works cooperatively to support efficient cafeteria operations.
13. Maintains professional, respectful, and cooperative working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, school administration, students, and the public.
14. Contributes to a positive and professional work environment that supports teamwork, respectful communication, and district goals.
15. Displays professional appearance, personal hygiene, and appropriate uniform dress in accordance with Child Nutrition Program standards.
16. Maintains confidentiality regarding work-related, personnel, student, and school information.
17. Reports safety concerns, equipment issues, accidents, or operational concerns promptly to the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
18. Understand that the Child Nutrition Program Director maintains authority regarding district-wide Child Nutrition Program operations, compliance requirements, food safety standards, and implementation of federal and state regulations.
19. Attends and actively participates in required training, meetings, professional development activities, and scheduled workdays in order to maintain compliance with Child Nutrition Program standards and Sheffield City School District expectations.
20. Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
21. Performs duties in a manner that promotes positive public relations for Sheffield City Schools and the Child Nutrition Program.
22. Understands and complies with Sheffield City Board of Education policies and procedures.
23. Performs other duties as assigned by Child Nutrition Program leadership.

The employee must be able to:

1. Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
2. Lift and carry moderate weight daily (approximately 15-50 pounds).
3. Push and pull carts, equipment, and supplies with adequate force.
4. Bend, kneel, stoop, reach, twist, balance, and perform repetitive motions.
5. Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement and activity.

This employee may be exposed to:

1. Wet or slippery floors and surfaces.
2. Cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.
3. Common food allergens.
4. Hot and cold temperatures.
5. Steam, kitchen equipment, and dishwashing areas.
6. Prolonged periods with hands in water.
7. Noise associated with cafeteria and kitchen operations.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9.5 Months. (186 days) Salary according to the Board approved salary schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy and Child Nutrition Program expectations and procedures.
