Job description

Quality Assurance Technician - Day Shift

JOB TITLE:

Intermediate Quality Assurance Technician 1 – Nutra Blend – Neosho, MO

SHIFT:  Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm. Weekends, overtime and holidays as needed.

PAY:  $20 - $22 per hour depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:  

Nutra Blend is an industry leader in manufacturing and distributing quality premixes and micro-ingredients to the feed industry.

The Intermediate Quality Assurance Technician 1 is expected to guarantee all food safety requirements are met through communicating with Operations to ensure a safe wholesome product is made and meets specifications.  This is accomplished by conforming to all standards within the Nutra Blend Quality Management Systems (EQMS/SQF).  Tasks can include various analyses, sample collection, record keeping, assist Quality Manager with audits, help train on procedures, assist with timely close out of internal issues, and provide feedback and reports to users and stakeholders. Additionally, prepare and monitor quality statistics and reports. Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. Evaluate non-conforming results and initiate re-sampling, re-testing, and/or hold procedures. Continually review procedures relevant to facility and offer suggestions for improvement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree or 3+ years of applicable experience (food safety, quality, or food manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills in the application of Microsoft Word and Excel  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Show up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, adapt to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain good relationships with plant personnel contacts to meet team goals and adjusting to important changes.
  • Always ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers without exception.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Physical Requirements for production positions regularly include:

  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
  • Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
  • Shift schedules can include days, nights, and weekends, some holidays and periodic overtime
