We are currently seeking a Small Business Relationship Manager to join our organization. As a Small Business Relationship, you will serve as the primary point of contact for small business members and prospects, developing new relationships and deepening existing ones across deposits, lending, and cash management. You'll proactively build a pipeline through cold calling, in-person prospecting, networking, and referral partnerships. You'll also assess credit needs, basic Small Business Administration (SBA) program eligibility, and coordinate with underwriters to structure loan requests. Additionally, you will serve as point of contact for branch network, to onboard accounts, resolve issues, and deliver an excellent experience while expanding awareness and driving growth in the community.
What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for executing a disciplined calling program to grow new and existing small business relationships.
  • Source prospects through cold calls, centers of influence (e.g., local chamber of commerce, Certified Public Accountants etc.), community outreach, and digital research.
  • Build referral pipelines, identify cross-sell opportunities, and position Nusenda products and services to meet member needs by uncovering needs through targeted questions, presenting tailored solution sets, coordinating as needed with Treasury Management and Small Business Underwriting for pricing and structure.
  • Represent the organization at community events promoting our organization as a preferred financial institution and workplace.
  • Pre-screen loan opportunities, interview applicants, gather financial packages, and assess SBA program fit for common requests.
  • Collaborate with small business underwriting to structure terms that provide appropriate returns and mitigate risk by sizing facilities to verified cash flow and working capital cycles, aligning term and amortization to loan purpose and collateral useful life, setting collateral advance rates and loan-to-value within policy, confirming guarantor support and global Debt Service Coverage Ratio, selecting SBA products and guaranty levels when eligibility strengthens repayment and reduces risk, and defining pre-funding conditions and covenants with clear documentation.

What You'll Need:
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of SBA lending programs and processes including basic eligibility and documentation requirements; direct SBA production experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of outbound business development, including structured cold calling, call planning, pipeline management, and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Experience in branch processes including business account opening, Know Your Customer/Customer Identification Program (KYC/CIP), online and treasury services setup.
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers appropriately via in person, email etc.
