Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Nursing Instructor - Simulation is to provide quality simulated nursing clinical experiences to nursing students at Hopkinsville Community College.
Job Duties:
Effectively teach simulated clinical experiences for the nursing division as assigned by the college (assignments may be at any campus site).
โ€ข Develop and implement simulated nursing clinical experiences.
โ€ข Provide for and be actively involved in on-going evaluations, development, and enhancement of simulation
โ€ข Actively utilize instructional and discipline research data to employ methods for continuous improvement in instructional and institutional effectiveness.
โ€ข Actively utilize technology as a learning tool and actively evaluate instructional tools for effective learning in the area of simulation.
โ€ข Participate in academic and student enhancement activities, including student advising.
โ€ข Maintain and improve, through professional development, competence in discipline knowledge and instructional techniques, including capabilities in the development of simulation.
โ€ข Participate in internal and external service activities (college committees, system committees, community relations).
โ€ข Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
โ€ข Nursing faculty shall hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
โ€ข RN license to practice in Kentucky, with a minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse within the past five years.
โ€ข Experience with simulation technology and create of simulation experiences preferred.
โ€ข Desire and enthusiasm to grow and learn the dynamics of simulation with attendance at conferences and future certification in the area.
