The instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in program improvement processes, and participating in various institutional and student affairs initiatives. This position requires a proactive and dedicated approach to student success, including fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure ongoing program and student development
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
    • Prepares lessons and course materials in accordance with the college's curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods and resources.
    • Adheres to course syllabi, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation requirements.
    • Delivers instruction to students through dynamic and varied instructional techniques to support various learning styles.

Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Master's degree in nursing or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and master's in a related field with a post-master's certificate in nursing from a program that is at least two semesters or three quarters in length
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license
    • Three years of full-time nursing experience in patient care
    • Documented or demonstrated competency in education through experience, educational preparation or continuing education
    • BLS for the Healthcare Provider
  • Language Skills:
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to area of expertise.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to perform basic calculations relevant to course material and student assessments.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and any software required for course delivery.
