Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to instruct and supervise nursing students in clinical and/or lab settings, and student evaluations.
Description of Essential Functions
Lab Instruction Assistant (90% of Time)
  1. Instruct, supervise, and document student activities in the clinical and/or lab setting being sensitive to student needs, level of preparation and safety of students.
  2. Participate in faculty and student evaluation meetings twice a term.
  3. Use instructional methodology appropriate to the audience and to the student (e.g., lecture, demonstration, group discussion, technology-enhanced delivery, computer-assisted delivery, and distance delivery). Must be able to explain and deliver materials in a variety of ways to meet the needs of a broad range of learning activities.
  4. Evaluate students in accordance with the criteria in the course outline and other applicable college policies and procedures. Is responsible for turning in grades according to college policy and procedure.
  5. Create a course syllabus for each course taught which includes, but is not limited to, course outcomes, course structure, materials to be covered, grading criteria, due dates for materials, exam dates and office hours.
  6. Work effectively with colleagues and students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, demonstrating an ability to work with others in a courteous and cooperative fashion.

  • Related teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.
