HCA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Informaticist to lead the design, optimization, and enhancement of clinical content and workflows within Expanse, HCA Healthcare's electronic health record (EHR) platform. This role serves as a key bridge between clinical operations and technology, partnering with stakeholders to evaluate current-state workflows, identify process gaps and improvement opportunities, define requirements, and develop solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and the end-user experience.

The Senior Clinical Informaticist will play a critical role in the design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of EHR functionality, including order sets, clinical documentation tools, decision support, data visualization, and workflow automation. This individual will leverage clinical knowledge and informatics expertise to translate operational needs into scalable EHR solutions and contribute to the ongoing development of the Expanse product roadmap.

The ideal candidate will have experience with EHR configuration, workflow analysis, requirements gathering, clinical process improvement, and system optimization initiatives. Experience working within Meditech Expanse, Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, or similar EHR platforms is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current-state clinical workflows, identify process gaps, and develop future-state solutions that optimize clinician efficiency and patient care outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into EHR design and build specifications.
  • Lead workflow assessments, gap analyses, and optimization initiatives across inpatient clinical operations.
  • Participate in the design, configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of Expanse enhancements and clinical content.
  • Evaluate end-user feedback and system performance metrics to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and EHR optimization.
  • Support strategic initiatives involving EHR innovation, clinical transformation, standardization, and change management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical workflows, EHR functionality, and best practices related to clinical informatics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of Clinical Informatics, EHR optimization, workflow analysis, or clinical application experience required
  • Experience with EHR build, configuration, workflow design, requirements gathering, and process improvement strongly preferred
  • Meditech Expanse experience preferred; Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, or other enterprise EHR experience considered
  • RN license preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25% required
  • Hybrid position located in Nashville, TN
