Job Description: RN Nurse Manager - Operating Room

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced RN Nurse Manager for the Operating Room. The Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients, ensuring adherence to the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physicianโ€™s orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning patient care.
  • Plan, direct, and provide nursing care to patients in the Operating Room.
  • Ensure compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physicianโ€™s orders, recognized nursing techniques, and established standards.
  • Take accountability for the overall management of the nursing unit.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of recent acute care staff-level OR or CVOR RN experience.
  • 1 year of managerial experience in the same unit.
  • Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Additional Information:

The Nurse Manager will be overseeing the Operating Room, including Techs, Nurses, and CVOR. In addition to the Operating Room, there's another manager overseeing PACU, Post Pre, and Same Day Surgery. The candidate should have strong leadership skills and experience managing a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
