San Diego's St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul's PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone.
Job Summary: Under the Supervision of the Health Information Systems Manager, the EHR Trainer will develop and lead trainings of the Electronic Health Record along with any ancillary systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proficient with use of computer systems and computer applications
- Demonstrated teaching/training techniques and experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively via multiple communication channels, including phone, email, video conferencing, and instant messaging platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create, customize, and share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and communication materials.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with electronic health record systems as a trainer, superuser, or subject matter expert.
- Working knowledge of the general healthcare environment(s), terminology, workflows, and structure.
- Experience with EHR or charting systems in a healthcare, geriatric and/or other human services area
- Experience with workflow analysis and process improvement
- Experience developing training curriculums and plans
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position will develop and deliver learning materials, lesson plans, including those required for online modules, instructor-led training, job-aides organization-wide.
- Develop and continuously update training materials for various training sessions (Orientation On-boarding, advanced, refresher classes, helpful hints, frequently asked questions, tip sheets, etc.)
- Maintain and create a schedule of onboarding training courses for new hires and conduct those trainings
- Provide training on system enhancements, upgrades, and related workflows.
- Collaborate with PACE staff to improve knowledge and utilization of EHR functionality.
- Assist in research, evaluation, and testing of new software and software upgrades
- Attend weekly status calls with the EHR vendor
- Act as a backup to the EHR help desk and assist with and ticket resolution
