Job Summary

This position is for a Nuclear Station Leader who is responsible for managing the Site Engineering Department to provide strategic alignment, tactical plant support engineering, and daily technical support for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the nuclear plant.
Vistra nuclear sites include: Comanche Peak (Glen Rose, TX); Beaver Valley (Shippingport, PA), Davis-Besse (Oak Harbor, OH) & Perry (Perry, OH).
*Location will be based at one of Vistra's four nuclear sites*

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage organization staffing and performance to achieve a high level of productivity.
  • Provide timely resolution to technical problems to contribute to safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operation.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and priorities important to the day-to-day operation.
  • Development and monitoring of Engineering Department budgets.
  • Review and approve activities affecting design and operation of structures, systems and components important to nuclear safety.
  • Interface with State and Federal regulators to demonstrate continued safe operation.
  • Coordinate/plan major scope work with team members (ex. OEM vendors) on Plant Systems.
  • Review and prioritize the recommended Design Modifications affecting the safe and reliable operation.
  • Foster an organizational culture that promotes the utilization of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • An Engineering degree or related technical field
  • At least 10 years of related nuclear experience
  • Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes/programs
  • SRO Certification/License for Nuclear Power Plant (preferred)
  • Knowledge of nuclear codes, standards and regulations; budgeting, planning and scheduling, Vistra policies and procedures, nuclear station policies and procedures, and nuclear safety analysis and principles and practices
