Job Summary

The VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the planning, deployment, management and operation of the infrastructure components of the base/baseline VCF solution. This includes vSphere, vSAN, VLAN backed networks, and OVA appliances including SDDC Manager, vCenters, NSX Managers, Edge Clusters, Aria Automation, Aria Operations, and Aria Operations for Logs.

Role Description

  • Lead customer consulting projects focused on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) private cloud solutions, guiding them to successful outcomes as a subject matter expert (SME).

  • Collaborate with clients to identify VCF opportunities.?

  • Plan, Deploy, Manage and Operate VMware Cloud Foundation. Ability to design and size infrastructure for the management components and for workload domains in preparing for VCF planning, designing and deployment of the physical network.

  • 8+ year's experience implementing and configuring vSphere environments.

  • Experience designing, deploying and configuration of NSX and NSX migrations.? Should have experience with microsegmentation.

  • Experience designing, deploying and configuring data center networks or implementing/troubleshooting networking solutions involving LANs, VLANs, WANs, routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Assess existing IT environments to provide strategies for VCF consumption.

  • Design, deploy and implementation of VMware vSAN clusters in a vSphere environment.

  • Hands-on installation and configuration knowledge of Aria Operations, especially with dashboards and alerts, and Log Insight

  • Experience with deploying Aria Automation, configuring service catalogs, and integrating Aria Automation Orchestrator.

  • Senior skills with designing, installing and configuring disaster recovery solutions using Site Recovery Manager and/or VMware Live Recovery.

  • ?Identify trends and deliver solutions that resolve challenges across multiple VMware products.

  • Ability to determine and resolve complex technical and operational challenges the customer may experience.

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with an ability to read complex customer situations and adapt as needed.

  • Mentor and manage consultants on VCF solutions.

Other Requirements

Preferred Requirements

  • Valid VCAP-DCV Design and Deploy Certification (minimum) or equal experience in deploying the below. VCDX -DCV certification (optional).

  • 5+years experiencewith VMware NSX, or 10+ deployment projects involving NSX.CCNP or equivalent may alsoacceptable.

  • VMware Cloud Foundation implementation experience and familiarity with VCF topology models,CloudBuilder, and SDDC Manager

  • Ability to provide leadership and best practices as well as lead the customer on technical, product-centric topics.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $190,000 - $250,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
